Background
Now in its 34th year of supporting the group travel industry, Excursions is the longest established group travel show in the UK. Visitors to Excursions 2009, the UK’s premier one day group travel show, were 7.5% up on the 2008 Figures at over 1,100 setting a new attendance record this century.
Excursions 2010 also proved to be a great success with over 200 attractions, destinations, accommodation providers and tour operators taking space.
Seven coaches transported visitors to the show from around the south east as well as coac operators bringing their own group customers. Each year there is a free shuttle coach from the nearest railway and underground stations with Excursions staff waiting on the platforms to greet visitors and guide them to the coach.
An average of 99% of visitors to Excursions from 2005 to 2010 rated the show as ‘worthwhile’ or ‘very worthwhile’.
Highlights from the Excursions 2010 Research
- 94% of 2010 exhibitors said they would consider booking again for 2011
- 99% of visitors surveyed found visiting Excursions 2010 'worthwhile' or 'very worthwhile'
- 98% of visitors are 'likely' or 'very likely' to take a group to visit the venues which exhibited at Excursions 2010
- 99% of visitors will consider visiting Excursions 2011
- 72% of visitors spent three hours or more at Excursions 2010
- 53% of visitors did not intend to visit any other UK group or travel trade exhibition
These statistics were sourced from questionnaires completed by 60% of exhibitors and 18% of visitors

Booking for Excursions 2011
Any attraction, destination or operator keen to attract more groups business can book a stand at Excursions 2011, and members of any Regional Tourist Board (or new regional tourism organisation) benefit from specially reduced rates. An early bird offer is available for those able to commit to a stand before 30th June 2010
